On the Sunday before Christmas Drake and I got a very upsetting phone call that Drake's Grandpa Jim was going to pass away. So Drake and I called into work and threw our clothes in a suitcase and headed up to Richfield to see him. Sunday night we gave Grandpa a release blessing it was a very spiritual experience. Drake and I wanted to stay with him that night and make sure he was comfortable. Drake parents and I stayed on the couches and Drake stayed by his bed side through the whole night! (It was a really big deal to Drake to stay with him through the whole thing)At the funeral Drake got to speak and was also a pallbearer and I got to be a casket escort. Although, it was a sad time I am so glad that Jim is in a better place and he is not in pain any more! I love you Grandpa Jim I know that the last 6 years you have been trapped in a body that has not functioned the best and now you can walk and run! Grandpa the pain Drake and I feel from losing you hurts but we have to remind ourselves that you are now watching over us instead of us watching over you! Grandpa it was such a big deal to you to see Drake become a Nurse Practioner and you will still get to see it but thanks for being Drake's first official patient! Drake and I love you and miss you but we know it is for the best! Grandpa please hold mine and Drake's kids tell them all about us! Grandpa teach them how to live and love and when the time comes please give them one last kiss and a hug before you send them down to us! We Love You Grandpa and we will miss you! Grandpa may your heart always lead you home!

I know that he is up there right now loving and playing bears with your kids and all my future grandkids! We will love and miss him until we can be together again!
