SNM Finale

So I know I have posted so much lately, but like I said Drake and I have been pretty
busy and a lot has gone on. However, I feel like mine and Drake's life may be over. Since the beginning of the school year in August, Drake and I have participated in what is called Special Needs Mutual. To explain it was started by the church in Salt Lake and it was for the Special Needs kids in the area. Although, it is church approved the special needs kids or participants like we like to call them, don't have to be in the church. The particpants can be of any age ranging from twelve to however old they are. Well they decided to bring Special Needs or SNM to other areas. So when Drake and I got the calling to be Advisors in SNM we were floored first we had not even heard of it and second we were excited to get started. So when we started SNM we were assigned to be over a group, I over the white group and Drake over the blue. In SNM we meet like young men and young women some classes are combined and others are in our individual classes. The group I was over started working on their young woman medallion and Drake's group was working on their Eagle. So to sum it all up we really had a good year and really got to know some great people. YOU KNOW THERE IS ONE THING I LEARNED IN SNM YOU HAVE NEVER LOVED UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN THERE, AND IF CHRIST WAS TO VISIT THE EARTH ON A THURSDAY NIGHT HE WOULD BE AT MUTUAL, AND THAT WE MAY BE NORMAL IN OUR SOCIETY BUT TRULY WE ARE THE ONES BLINDED BY OUR OWN DISABLITIES!!
I have had many friends in my life and I truly love them and they truly love me, but I have made some very and when I say very I mean very special friends that I know I love them and they love me and I will have these friendships forever because of SNM!!
So today was are last meeting for mutual until September when school starts again and I honestly can tell you for once in my life I want the summer to be over I miss all my friends! There is one who holds a special place in my heart her name is Janine, she came later in my class and she didn't really participate in class. As the year went on she started to open up and tell me about her life. She started to call me and we would chat on the phone for hours. Well today on the last day of mutual she turned to me and said so Shakari what are we are we friends? buds? what are we? I looked at her as tears started to come to my eyes I said well Janine you know you are my friend but your more to me than that you are my sister that I haven't had until now! She looked at me and smiled than she went to the front of the room and bore her testimony to everyone in SNM about how much she loved me and how we are more like sisters separted at birth.
I GUESS YOU DON'T REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU LOVE SOMEONE UNTIL YOU SERVE THEM AND YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MUCH OF AN IMPACT THEY MAKE ON YOU UNTIL YOU TRY AND TEACH A SPECIAL NEEDS KID SOMETHING BUT THEY TEACH YOU MORE!
I BELIEVE THERE ARE ANGELS AMONG US IF WE WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW THEM THEY CAN TEACH US ABOUT ETERNAL LOVE, AND HOW FRIENDSHIPS SHOULD BE A BINDING RELATIONSHIP, I KNOW THAT JANINE HAS MADE ME WHO I AM TODAY AND THAT OUR FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER!
